Wagercom.com 's NBA guru AC Titticock. AC will be answering reader e-mail every week or two, so keep e-mailing him with questions, ideas, and/or naked photos of your sisters. Questions can be about the NBA, Major League Baseball, Fantasy sports, or the great Taylor Rain-Janine Lindemuller debate. Just send your questions to ac@wagercom.com
Questions, questions, questions. I have been deluged with questions since bringing Ask AC back in this NBA offseason. As always, I’ll answer your question on a weekly basis so keep them coming, especially the ones with those oh so nice photos attached.
Also, the annual Wagercom.com fantasy football draft and meet and greet will be in Vegas again this year starting Friday night Aug. 25th. Should you want to come by and meet your favorite Wagercom writers, stop by the Luxor pool (I know the Luxor is a bit ghetto but AC loves him some inclinator) on Saturday. We will be the drunk ones with wads of cash from the sports book hitting on the skankiest girls we can find. And if you happen to be a midget, we could use your help in running our draft board on Saturday, and I am not making that up. So come out and join us for drinks, gambling, drinks, and more drinks.
How much did Randy Foye sign for?
GC
Wayne, PA
According to this article, Foye signed for the slotted rookie pay for the #7 pick plus the 25% kicker rookies are allowed. So he is getting $7.9MM over three years with a team option of $3.5MM for a 4th year. Not bad for a guy who shot 40% in college. I know he had a big summer league and he has drawn many Dwyane Wyane Wade comparisons, but as of now he is backing up the immortal Mike James. Plus Dwyane Wade shot 50% in college and has maintained it in the pros and I just don’t see Foye’s shooting improving all that much.
Either way, he did do a better job negotiating than DeShawn Stevenson who successfully parlayed a 3 year $10MM offer into a 1 year $950k job. Well done DeShawn, perhaps college would have been a good choice for you after all.
How is the US basketball team going to do in the World Championships? Should I take them to win it all?
Petey Greene
Washington, DC
Great question as you all know AC is your best source of hoops betting information. My loyal readers know I predicted the US team would perform horribly at the last Olympics in two Ask ACs from 2004 http://www.wagercom.com/ask_ac2.html http://www.wagercom.com/ask_ac3.html and sure enough they choked like they were performing fellatio in a BangBros’ Monsters of Cock video. That team was not only horribly put together, but it was horribly coached by Larry Brown who must have been perfecting his strategy for his failure with the Knicks.
This team is much much different. First of all, it is LeDong and Dwyane Wade’s team. Those two are like the Larry and Magic of this generation in that it really seems like all they care about is winning. Now that they have NBA credibility in the form of a championship for Wade and a narrow Game 7 defeat for LeDong, players are more apt to follow them. Secondly, they have some shooters in Melo (who was decent in the Olympics), Gilbert Arenas, Joe Johnson, and even little Kirk Hinrich. Thirdly, between Dwight Howard and Elton Brand, they have the firepower to clog the middle and dominate the boards. Finally, these players have some pride and are pissed about losing in the Olympics. I mean the US losing the Olympics in basketball is like Taylor Rain not performing anal in one of her videos. In other words, it should never happen.
Plain and simply, this team should win it all. There will be a few close calls, but this team is so much better than the Olympic team that failed it’s like comparing Jessica Simpson to a twice knocked up Britney Spears (and despite reports, I am not the father of the first child, though Britney and I certainly tried). Whatever the odds are, and I assume the US is the favorite, take the US and count your money all the way to the strip club.
Any thoughts on TO in Dallas?
Philly Bob
Yeah, TO is a punk and will eventually blow up at Parcells and/or Drew Bledsoe. After Drew makes 2 pump fakes and holds the ball for 5 seconds too long for the 10th straight play, TO may rip off Bledsoe’s head in the huddle. Bledsoe was once a decent QB but now he is like a brontosaurus in that he has no mobility and is semi-aquatic (ok, maybe not the semi-aquatic part, but you get my drift). Bledsoe likes throwing interceptions and taking sacks a much as TO loves yelling at his QBs. This is a bad fit, not as bad of a fit as MC Hammer as a hardcore rapper, or Rosie O’Donnell in a mini-skirt, but bad nonetheless.
God Bless,
