11/1/03 NBA Basketball Week 1 Picks
I am excited to announce the addition of our new NBA Basketball expert analyst AC Titticock. While leafing through resumes prior to selecting our new NBA Basketball gambling expert it became clear that AC was the man for the job. Not only did his analysis come across entertaining but it was clear he knew the NBA and about betting on basketball. I am confident you will find his outlook on the NBA extremely useful especially when it comes to his weekly free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. To get things going he has outlined which NBA teams to watch out for this year in both the Eastern and Western NBA conferences. In addition AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook and his free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday.
PICKS FOR SATURDAY 11/01/03
So I went 2-1 last night and what did we learn? We learned it is tough to bet against Paul Pierce and it is hard to give points to the team with the best player on the court. We also learned Pau Gasol apparently has off nights and miracles do happen as Vin Baker went for 24. Let me repeat that, Vin Baker went for 24, a full case for him. On the bright side, I did tell you Chauncey Billups would rip apart the Heat and he did to the tune of 27 while my new favorite player Udonis Haslem dropped in 16 for the lowly Heat. Thanks to Scottie’s kids Tyson Chandler with 22 rebounds and Eddy Curry with 22 points, the Bulls were able to cover and Daddy Scottie got to go home happy. Now on to today’s picks:
Indiana -2.5 at Atlanta:
Remember, I told you Atlanta is just not a good team. While I like the fact that they are using Nazr Muhammed, I still can’t see them winning more than 20 games and this certainly won’t be one of them. That said, the Pacers are coming off a terrible loss to the lowly Bucks. Look for Rick Carlisle to light a fire under Ron Artest and the Pacers to smoke the Hawks. I hate giving points on the road but this is the time to do it. Take the Pacers.
New York at San Antonio -8:
Here’s a little known fact, Spike Lee is actually the best player on the Knicks this year. They are horrible with a capital putrid. The Knicks do have 17 power forwards on their roster to stop Tim Duncan, unfortunately none of them are named Willis Reed. Neither team can score, but I don’t think the Knicks break 80 this game. Look for the Spurs in a laugher.
Sacramento -5.5 in Denver:
Ugh, am I really giving 5.5 points on the road to a team that upset the defending champs a few days ago? Am I really giving 5.5 and betting on a team that played in California last night and has to travel to Denver today? I don’t like doing this but Peja is back. The guy has been on fire. Denver had a nice little win and I like their team but they are no Sacto. Bibby, Jackson, Christie, Peja, game over. Watch Brad Miller send Camby back to injured list. Tough game here but take the Kings.
