11/14/03 Week 3 Free NBA Picks Against the Spread

I am excited to announce the addition of our new NBA Basketball expert analyst AC Titticock. While leafing through resumes prior to selecting our new NBA Basketball gambling expert it became clear that AC was the man for the job. Not only did his analysis come across entertaining but it was clear he knew the NBA and about betting on basketball. I am confident you will find his outlook on the NBA extremely useful especially when it comes to his weekly free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook and his free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday and sometimes Saturday as well.

AC has started the NBA betting season with a bang. He has a 73% winning percentage against the spread on his NBA basketball picks after 15 games.

NBA BASKETBALL WEEK 3 REVIEW

The big news of the week was the Lakers short two game losing streak. Ugly losses to Memphis and New Orleans showed some weaknesses in the Lakers’ game. It appears that the way to keep them from winning a championship is to match them up front with big white guys (Gasol and Tsakalidis), match them up front with guys who hit the boards (Lynch, Brown, and Magloire), feed Shaq extra candy bars, or find another girl to say no to Kobe. I think those two games were an aberration. I hate the Lakers but they are just too good.

So I’ve been getting a lot of fan mail lately (may I suggest if you’re going to send panties please make sure you didn’t wear them and then chow down on Mexican food and you know who you are) asking about my all overrated team that I keep referring to. So I thought I’d give you a quick run down.

Center: Theo Ratliff. Theo had a couple of marginally good years as a role player and parlayed that and his potential into a multi-year deal. The problem is, he gets hurt when he sneezes and when he’s healthy, he’s just not that good. He shoots under 50% from the floor and doesn’t average nearly as many boards as he should. Yeah, I know he blocks shots and he has long arms but he just can’t play the game. If I were the Hawks I would run Nazr Muhammed out there 40 minutes a night and I would guarantee that would bring me at least 5 more wins than keeping Ratliff on the floor.

Honorable Mention: Any white guy not named Ilgauskus.

Power Forward: Chris “Tin Man” Weber. If he only had a heart. If you watched the Kings get eliminated by the Lakers two years ago you’ll understand why Weber is so overrated. In crunch time he disappeared faster than a free dime bag in the Blazers locker room. Bibby had to carry that team because Weber didn’t have the heart/skill/desire to step-up. I would have traded him right then and there. The Kings will win nothing with him as their leader and they should drop him like Ainge did Antoine.

Honorable Mention: Antoine Walker

Small forward: Richard Jefferson. Known to Nets fans as stone hands and the human turnover. Dicky Jeff can not handle the ball and makes good decisions when he has the ball about as often as Scottie Pippen wears a condom. The fact that this clown was on the US Olympic qualifying team reinforces the fact that the US really wants to lose the gold. I am not sure why David Stern wants this to happen but trust me, he does. Next time you watch a Nets game pay particular attention to the decisions Jefferson makes and you’ll understand why they call the University of Arizona the Hartford of the West.

Honorable Mention: Grandpa Pippen

Shooting Guard: Vince Carter. Harold Minor with charisma and a jump shot. Problem is Vince has too much Chris Weber in him. He loves to get hurt and complain, just when things are going poorly. Vince wasn’t even the best player on his college team. He reminds me of a smaller, worse version of Dominique. I just hope the Celtics don’t sign him when he’s 52 like they did Wilkins.

Honorable Mention: Ricky Davis

Point Guard: Jamaal Tinsley. See what happens when Larry Legend takes over? Tinsley has been demoted so far that he now has to actually buy tickets to get into the arena (and don’t try that student ID ploy again Jamaal, we know you’re not in college). I heard he was fighting for a spot on the And1 mix tape tour but got beat out by the Professor (By the way, has there ever been a better basketball TV show than the And1 ESPN2 shows? I can’t wait for these guys to show up on an episode of Scooby Doo). Tinsley is terrible and only played because Isiah is an idiot with a capital moron. The guy can’t shoot, doesn’t make good decisions with the ball, and plays terrible defense. With all of that working against him you’d have thought he played for Steve Lavin in college. Sounds exactly like what you want out of your starting point guard, right? Did I mention that Isiah is a moron? As an aside, I am hoping Isiah gets involved with the show Everybody Loves Raymond because everything he has tried he has ruined and if somebody could get that god awful Raymond guy off of my TV I would be so grateful.

Honorable Mention: Jamal Crawford

On to the picks for Friday Night:

NBA BASKETBALL PICKS FOR FRIDAY 11/14/03

Last week I went 4-2 with both losses as a result of the knicks somehow covering two nights in a row. I hate them even more. Anyway, on to Friday night's picks:

Washington +2.5 at Miami:

How can i keep betting against my boy Udonis? Well, until Miami breaks into the win column Udonis gets no love (at least from me). Risky to take a young Wizard team on the road, definitely a loseable game but I think my boy Kwame Brown is due for a 20-10 game. Take the Wizards and the points.

Seattle at Indiana -5:

Undefeated Seattle goes to Conseco Field house (the house that Tinsley built with all of those bricks) and faces an Indiana team that hasn't quite hit its stride yet. Look for Ron Artest to shut down the phenomenon known as Flip Murray (hey it's Flip's world and were all just living in it) by ripping off his arm and feeding it to him. Jermain O'Neal is going to go for 40 against Sikma or Kemp or McIlvaine or whoever the sonics are rolling out there these days (Tim Kempton anyone?). Take the Pacers and give Seattle a few points for love.

Detroit at LA Lakers -8.5:

Ugh, I hate to give 8.5 points to the second best team in the East but what am I going to bet on the Celtics-Cavaqueers and give you all my secrets for free? Kobe is going to break out soon and Shaq is due for a big night. Lakers should run the Pistons off the court. Take the lakers and send me some of the winnings.
