05/07/04 Free NBA Playoff Picks Against the Spread

I am excited to announce the addition of our new NBA Basketball expert analyst AC Titticock. While leafing through resumes prior to selecting our new NBA Basketball gambling expert it became clear that AC was the man for the job. Not only did his analysis come across entertaining but it was clear he knew the NBA and about betting on basketball. I am confident you will find his outlook on the NBA extremely useful especially when it comes to his weekly free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook and his free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday and sometimes Saturday as well.

AC has wrapped up the NBA betting season with a 49% winning percentage against the spread on his NBA basketball picks after 161games.

NBA BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS WEEK 4

It happened, it finally happened, the Heat-Hornets series is over. While it seemed like the series was going to go on longer than the Hundred Years War (which was actually 116 years) the Heat finally put those pesky Hornets to rest and with that, we can now say the Tim Floyd NBA era is over. Floyd brought his stellar 49-190 record to Charlotte, and by Charlotte I mean New Orleans, and promptly led the Hornets to a .500 record in the East which is comparable to getting vd in a whore house as it really isn’t that hard to do (ask Jiggy for the details). So what did we learn during this series other than Stan Van Gundy and Mr. Ronald Jeremy were separated at birth (thanks to SI for pointing that out)? Nothing. There was really no benefit to this match-up, except for the obligatory Lamar Odom pot smoking jokes and the continued growth of my boy Udonis. Now that the eyesore is over, the Heat can take their four straight losses to the Pacers like men and enjoy the offseason. By the way, the Heat are one player away from being really good next year. If they get a shooter who can fill it up from three, they will go far, and no I am not smoking from Lamar Odom’s stash.

Since I’ve been wrapped up in finals the past week, I owe you all a series preview for round 2.

Lakers-Spurs: Have any of you seen Tony Parker lately? The Lakers sure as hell haven’t. The guy is quicker than a girl rejecting Jiggy in a bar. He may be faster than a speeding bullet and has a nice little floater. Add that to Tim Duncan’s ever steady play and the Lakers are in trouble. Here is what I don’t understand, why doesn’t Shaq score 80 points every game. Seriously, he can’t be stopped. Actually, there is one player that can stop him and that’s Kobe. Maybe Kobe will learn to pass next year when his cellmate Bubba asks for the soap, and no, I don’t know what that means.

Prediction: Spurs in 6

Kings-Wolves: Garnett is really good, in fact he could go down as one of the top ten players ever if he is able to make the leap this year. Jordan was not Jordan until he won his first title and after that, the legend grew. Once he did it the first time, he understood what it took and was able to use his killer instinct at will. I think Garnett can become this player. Trivia question: How old was Jordan when he won his first title? 27. How old is Kevin Garnett? 27. It takes time to learn how to win and I think Garnett has figured it out. He can’t be stopped and if realizes that, and I think he has, the league will be his. I like the Kings, Bibby can play, but Tin Man Weber doesn’t have the heart.

Prediction: Wolves in 7

Heat-Pacers: The Pacers are good, the Heat are not yet. The only thing that could make this series entertaining would be if they brought back Harold Miner to dunk at halftime.

Prediction: Pacers in 4

Nets-Pistons: The Nets are a better team, plain and simple. No arguing. Martin, Kidd, Kittles, and Stone Hands Jefferson. The Pistons are overrated no matter what they did in game one. The Nets will fast break themselves to four victories. Close fought series but Nets will prevail.

Prediction: Nets in 7

On to the free NBA Playoff picks for Friday May 7th and Saturday May 8th:

New Jersey +5.5 at Detroit:

Game one was a fluke. Lawrence Frank is going to light a fire under his boys and they are going to come out smoking hot. Kidd is going triple-double on Billups’ eye.

Bonus pick:

Parlay the Nets with the Over 163.5. The Detroit mystique ends tonight.

Saturday May 8th:

So the Nets blew a huge lead last night in the second half causing me to split the night (the over was an obvious call). In a previous time, I would have bought Jason Kidd posters and then ripped them in half, fed them to a homeless person, had the homeless person crap them out, and then peed on the homeless person’s crap to get rid of my anger at the Nets for choking. However, I’ve adopted the wise Lamar Odom’s philosophy in that “you can’t do nothing about spilled milk.” So with that, on to tonight’s picks.

Miami +11 at Indiana:

My brain tells me take the Heat and the points while my gut tells me otherwise. Moral of the story, go with the brain.

Sacramento at Minnesota over 191.5:

They like to score, I like scoring, bet with them to enjoy your day.

Bonus Pick: Sacramento at Minnesota -6.5:

I’ve been betting big on Garnett all year, he makes the leap tonight.
