05/28/04 - 5/29/04 Free NBA Playoff Picks Against the Spread

I am excited to announce the addition of our new NBA Basketball expert analyst AC Titticock. While leafing through resumes prior to selecting our new NBA Basketball gambling expert it became clear that AC was the man for the job. Not only did his analysis come across entertaining but it was clear he knew the NBA and about betting on basketball. I am confident you will find his outlook on the NBA extremely useful especially when it comes to his weekly free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook and his free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday and sometimes Saturday as well.

AC has wrapped up the NBA betting season with a 50% winning percentage against the spread on his NBA basketball picks after 176 games.

NBA BASKETBALL PLAYOFFS WEEK 7

I have to admit, the NBA playoffs this year have featured more memorable plays than an episode of Chapelle’s show if you can believe that (and yes, Chappelle’s show is one of the top ten shows of all-time, not even arguable). First there was Duncan’s shot, then Fisher’s lucky shot, followed by Richard Jefferson’s block, Chauncey Billup’s half courter, and even Austin Croshere throwin’ it down in the closing minutes of game three. However, the best play of the playoffs had to be Tayshaun “Let’s Party like it’s 1999” Prince coming out of nowhere to throw Reggie Miller’s breakaway lay-up. An unbelievable play, I am still jumping up and down slapping myself five for that and it happened like 5 days ago. How do you block a breakaway lay-up, amazing, you wonder what would happen if Tayshaun played hard for 48 minutes a game.

In the West, I am a bit surprised that the Lakers have basically coasted through the playoffs. Minnesota is a legitimately talented team and the Lakers are making them look very Eastern Conference-ish, almost like Milwaukee, or the Hornets if you will. It would probably be good if Garnett took the ball to the hoop more but when you’re actually rolling Oliver Miller out there nightly (and by rolling out, I literally mean rolling out), you don’t stand much of a chance. Little known fact, I don’t know if any of you remember Richard Dumas. He played on the Suns years ago with Barkley and Oliver Miller and had a couple of decent years. Rumors were he self-destructed because of drugs but it turns out what happened is that Oliver Miller ate him. Miller was hungry and mistook him for a hot dog, true story, you haven’t heard about him in ten years have you?

As dominant as they are, the Lakers have to be one of the least exciting and least likeable teams to watch in years. Who do you root for? The Rapist, the Mailman, the Whiner (Payton), or Shaq? They play disjointed, don’t pass well, their defense isn’t great, but when you have Shaq in the middle and the World’s Stupidest Man, Kobe, playing one on one, there’s not much more you need. The worst part is that the Pistons are terrible and the Pacers are a shooting guard away from being a challenge. Reggie Miller had a nice game early on but he is just not good anymore, seriously, give the Pacers a slasher and they would be able to beat the Lakers. When Austin Croshere is the key to your series, your team does not deserve to win the championship.

Oh well, there’s always next year.

On to the free NBA Playoff picks for Friday May 28th:

Indiana +4 at Detroit:

This is where it ends for the Pistons. The Pacers are going for 100 tonight

Indiana at Detroit OVER 162:

NBA Picks for Saturday May 29th:

Lakers at Minnesota +2.5:

What’s my rule? When your gut says one thing and your brain says the other, go with your brain. Well, I’m not doing that here. Brain says Lakers in a blow out but gut says Wolves will make one last stand. Take the Wolves so you can at least have something to root for.

Lakers at Minnesota Over 181.5:

This is not the Pistons-Pacers. These teams can and will fill it up.
