10/30/05 2005-2006 NBA Season Preview (Week 1 Picks on The Left)
AC's outlook on the NBA is an entertaining original column featured here at Wagercom. If you are prone to NBA betting or even just an NBA fan, make sure you come back often to read his articles and free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook during the basketball season including free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday and Saturday.
Our NBA expert AC wrapped up the 2003-2004 NBA betting season with a 51% winning percentage against the spread on his basketball picks after 190 games and has improved that to a 57% winning percentage against the spread completing the 2004-2005 season.
NBA WEEK 1 FREE PICKS:
I had to get a few picks out for the first two days of the season. It’s like I have been in detox for the past few months and now I have my NBA back. Just some quick ideas as I’ll have a full column coming next week and will settle into a regular schedule which will likely involve a column on Saturdays and picks on Saturday and Sunday. I’d do this more often but you all are not yet paying my bills, though it seems I am helping you pay yours. Just remember, I take naked lesbian photos as payment in lieu of cash. And hey, good luck to you all this year, I hope we win enough money to lose $30k in jewelry outside of a strip club like my new favorite player Melvin Ely.
Opening Night Game:
Milwaukee +7 at Philadelphia: Iverson has been hurt, Webber is 52 years old playing on one leg, and the Bucks are ready to surprise some people. This game will be close if anything, so take the Bucks and enjoy the Bogut.
Wednesday Night Games:
Indiana -6 at Orlando: Grant Hill is hurt which means the Magic will be relying heavily on Hedo Turkoglu which may not even be good if Orlando were the Turkish national team. The Pacers are just too deep for the Magic unless Steve Francis gets in the zone which is as likely as Tyrell Sutton winning the Heisman trophy this year (and if Randy Walker weren’t such an idiot, and gave the ball to Tyrell to run 20-25 times a game, he would win the Heisman 4 years in a row, he is that good, but I digress).
New York at Boston -3.5: This game troubles me a bit. At first I thought the game was at MSG and that would be a guaranteed win for the Celtics as all the pressure would be on the Knicks. However, the game is in Boston which means the pressure shifts to the Celtics and likely starting rookie point guard Orien “the constellation” Greene. If the Knicks weren’t so disorganized right now, they could pull this off, but I think a motivated Pierce leads the Cs to a 10 point win.
Portland +11 at Minnesota: 11 points? Are you kidding me? Am I missing something here like Szczerbiak becoming a player or the Wolves acquiring LeBron? Jeesh, perhaps the bookies think the Blazers will be distracted by a Lake Minnetonka cruise. Take the Blazers, the points, and the cruise (I hear it is delightful).
