AC's outlook on the NBA is an entertaining original column featured here at Wagercom. If you are prone to NBA betting or even just an NBA fan, make sure you come back often to read his articles and free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook during the basketball season including free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday and Saturday.

Our NBA expert AC wrapped up the 2003-2004 NBA betting season with a 51% winning percentage against the spread on his basketball picks after 190 games and has improved that to a 57% winning percentage against the spread completing the 2004-2005 season.

NBA WEEK 10 COLUMN & FREE PICKS:

It has been an exciting week in the NBA, and by exciting, I mean the exact opposite. The “year of the bore” continues with no player trades, no new superstars, few interesting story lines, and only one coach fired. But hey, at least we have that, so we owe some thanks to the Seattle Supersonics. Earlier this week they dismissed Bob Weiss just 30 games into his tenure which is almost Tarkanian . However, this move was about as inevitable as death, taxes, and the internet peddling porn. In fact, here is what your boy AC had to say about Bob Weiss in the NBA preview “The biggest reason for this team to fail is that Bob Weiss is the coach which is never a good sign, but then again maybe he learned something in the last 11 years.” And now we know that apparently he didn’t. Perhaps Paul Allen should contact us here at Wagercom.com for his next coaching decision when the Bob Hill experiment winds down. I do think Hill is better than Weiss, but then again gonorrhea may be better than herpes, which means the lesson as always is that there are no winners here.

In other news, researchers have recently found the largest prime number which is 2 to the 30,402,457th power minus 1. Coincidentally this is also the total number of kids Shawn Kemp and Scottie Pippen have as well as the number of turnovers the Celtics are headed for this year. In an unbelievable game, the Celtics beat Charlotte on Wednesday night despite a 23-5 turnover deficit that led to Charlotte taking 30 more shots than the Celtics. That is right, there was a differential of 30 shots between the two teams which I don’t think I have ever seen. The Bobcats were 40-100 from the field and the Celtics were 40-70. And yet Doc Rivers still has a job, welcome to mediocrity.

Lastly, many of you have asked me what is going on with the Bulls and their 8 game losing streak and unfortunately I don’t have a great answer. It appears that they are really struggling on the boards with underachieving Tyson Chandler being hurt and Wagercom whipping boy Eddy “Mr. First Half” Curry being on the Knicks. Other than Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich, I can’t really point to another player playing at or above their capabilities. Ben Gordon has had two strong games in a row now that he is starting but until the Bulls get a consistent inside presence or go full out run and gun, they will continue to struggle. That said, I still think they will challenge for a playoff spot. I mean the 13-18 Celtics are the 8th seed as of today which has to be more embarrassing for the NBA than either the Darko Milicic experiment or the last Olympics.

One more thing before I get to the picks and win you all some more money. I came across this quote from Martell Webster of the Traillazers

"I'm looking forward to playing against Gerald Green, who is one of my good friends, and if we could both get on the court when the Blazers play the Celtics, that would be something.” Yes, it really would be something since Gerald Green has yet to even dress for a game. The high school to the NBA thing has yet to pan out this year, but it is still early for the kids. What is more interesting is that the Euro bubble seems to be over, but we knew that would pass, like cabbage patch kids or the career of Punky Brewster.

So without further ado, on to this weeks picks:

NBA FRIDAY FREE PICKS:

Atlanta +7.5 at Boston:

Neither of these teams is very good and yes that is an understatement. While the Celtics play well at home and are due for a big game, the Hawks are not 7.5 points worse. Neither team plays defense so just hope Al Harrington gets hot and Zaza continues the deflowering of Mark ?Smoke ?em if you got ?em? Blount.

Los Angeles Clippers -1 at Sacramento:

The Clippers are coming back to Earth but luckily for them the Kings are playing with an injury depleted line-up. Kenny Thomas and Kevin Martin just aren?t going to cut it, even if Peja is back. Take the Clips and watch Brand treat Brad Miller worse than a case of syphilis.

Philadelphia at LA Lakers Over 202.5:

Kobe's back and AI loves to score. Both players are going for 40 so you need Webber and Odom to step it up. Bonus points if Korver hits 5 or more 3-balls (Korver loves balls).

Utah at Memphis Over 172:

If Kirilenko is playing this game should hit 180. Both teams can play D but recently the Grizz have been filling it up. Plus with AK47 on the court, Utah gets 10 more points than usual just for hustle. Make sure Kirilenko is playing and then enjoy the show. If you're really feeling lucky, you might want to drop a bit on Utah +7.5 as well.

NBA SATURDAY FREE PICKS:

2-2 last night thanks to the Clips blowing it at the end and Utah deciding scoring was unimportant to them. As a result, I will win you all some of your money back tonight.

San Antonio at Phoenix Over 195:

I know, the Spurs love playing defense but this is the regular season and scoring is much more fun. Look for the Suns to crack 100 so hope the Spurs decide to run with them.

Boston at Washington Under 216:

Two high scoring teams who play no defense begs to take the over. However, it is the second game of back-to-back games for both teams so expect more slop than scoring. Just hope Blount continues to turn it over 113 times a game (give or take 108).

Utah at Detroit -11.5:

Utah hurt me last night. With all of the love I have shown for them I thought they would at least give me some love back. Instead they treated me like Macauley Caulkin at a Michael Jackson sleepover, and for that my ass is still bleeding. Anyway, the Jazz may actually stick in this one but their backcourt is so inferior that the Pistons should role. Just hope Billups goes off.

Minnesota at Dallas -7:

I know the Wolves just beat Dallas by 13 3 days ago. I also know Dallas just played an overtime game last night, and I know 7 points is a lot to give. However, I know one other thing and that is Dirk loves to score. The Mavs are not going down two in a row to the Wolves, just hope they play some defense to cover the 7.
