AC's outlook on the NBA is an entertaining original column featured here at Wagercom. If you are prone to NBA betting or even just an NBA fan, make sure you come back often to read his articles and free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook during the basketball season including free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday and Saturday.
Our NBA expert AC wrapped up the 2003-2004 NBA betting season with a 51% winning percentage against the spread on his basketball picks after 190 games and has improved that to a 57% winning percentage against the spread completing the 2004-2005 season.
NBA WEEK 20 COLUMN & FREE PICKS:
It is NCAA tournament time which can only mean one thing, the Knicks are losing again. Ok, so the two are not technically correlated, but the Isiah Knicks are such a disaster that I find it difficult not to make fun of them each and every week. To a basketball writer they are like herpes, the gift that keeps on giving.
Now that Marbury and Larry Brown are exchanging pleasantries in the media (and by pleasantries, I mean the exact opposite), it is only going to get better. The problem is that the Knicks really can’t trade Marbury, even though they want to, because with Rob Babcock out of the league no GM is dumb enough to trade for him. So Larry and Marbury are going to be stuck together for another two years and it is going to be glorious to watch, kind of like Flavor of Love except without the happy ending.
My favorite part of the Knick’s saga is Brown benching his starters and winning with his rookies and second teamers in double OT against the Hawks on Wednesday. Francis and Marbury just sulked on the bench, brilliant. So thank you Isiah for putting this together for all of us to watch. Really, now if you could somehow trade for Baron Davis, I think my life would be complete.
In other NBA happenings, the Kings are making a strong run while the Hornets are fading in the West. Of course I predicted this in my mid-season review so if you all read that, and I assume you did, I hope you wagered on it heavily. Ron Artest makes a huge difference on Sacramento since he is able to actually guard the opposing team’s best player while bringing the intensity the Kings had been lacking. He must be good if he is going to get Shareef Abdur-ChrisJackson-Radio-Raheem to the playoffs.
Anyway, I could sit here and pontificate about the NBA all day but I know all of you are probably consumed with the NCAA tournament, lesbian porn, and trying to memorize the first 9,000 digits of pi. So I will leave you all with a short quiz before giving you my picks to win you cash.
1. Isiah: General Manager
A. George Bush: President
B Charles Manson: Good dinner guest
C. Chuck Klosterman: Writer
D. All of the above
2. The Knicks could beat all of these in a game of basketball except for:
A. An elementary school girl’s team
B. The Indiana School for the blind
C. The cast of Under the Rainbow
D All of the above
3. These are all more difficult than scoring on the Knicks defense except:
A. Walking
B. Breathing
C. Not visiting a strip club in Vegas
D. None of the above
4. Francis and Marbury are the best duo since:
A. Sacco and Venzetti
B. Milli and Vanilli
C. Seigfried and Roy
D. Shaq and Kobe
5. Trading with Isiah is like:
A. Taking candy from an armless baby
B. Beating a midget in the high jump
C. Winning a game of Jeopardy against Britney Spears
D. Nothing is as easy as trading with Isiah

So without further ado, on to this weeks picks:
NBA FRIDAY FREE PICKS:
After two straight losing weekends, I am a bit flummoxed, kind of like a Hollywood celebrity trying to understand exponents. It is the first consecutive losing weekends for your boy AC in two years, and for that I am sorry. In order to remedy this, I have spent this week re-evaluating my strategies, re-assessing my strengths and weaknesses, and re-watching all of my old Taylor Rain films. I have determined that I have put too much credence on teams' performances from the beginning of the year, I have been choosing too many winners without regard for the line, and most of all I have determined that Taylor Rain could be bad for my health, but in a good way, kind of like nachos and all of their cheesy goodness, mmmm nachos. With all of that said, tonight is winning time. Take out your cash, give it to your bookie, and collect it tomorrow. We are all getting paid and we are all going to sizzler. Giddy up.
Boston +2.5 at Orlando:
I know I say this often but Orlando sucks. I know they have won their last three home games but they are going up against a much improved Celtics team. The difficult part is that the Celtics blew a 25 point lead to the Heat last night so they may come out flat, but who is going to stop Pierce? Take the Celtics and hope Perkins, Big Al, and Gomes can slow Dwight Howard down. And if you are feeling lucky, you may want to take the over 195 as well.
Dallas at Washington Over 201:
I know Dallas has more injuries than Shawn Kemp has kids (ok, maybe not that many, but you get the point), but the Wiz play defense like it is going to give them the HIV. As long as Dirk drops 30ish and Jamison shoots 50% from the field, both teams should crack 100 (I said crack, hehehehe).
Sacramento at Indiana Under 194.5:
Welcome back Ron Ron, the fans of Indiana missed you like a fat chick misses salad. Just play some D tonight and miss a ton of shots so I can win on the under, ok?
LA Lakers at New Jersey -4:
New Jersey rarely makes an appearance in AC's picks because they are not very predictable. If Vince Carter were not such a vagina, I would pick them more often, but it is hard to gamble on a team whose leading scorer gets hurt when the wind blows. I have shorted the Lakers all year and I am not going to stop tonight. Just hope Kidd comes to play.
