AC's outlook on the NBA is an entertaining original column featured here at Wagercom. If you are prone to NBA betting or even just an NBA fan, make sure you come back often to read his articles and free NBA Basketball picks against the spread. AC will be providing us with a weekly outlook during the basketball season including free NBA Basketball picks on some of the weekend games each Friday and Saturday.
Our NBA expert AC wrapped up the 2003-2004 NBA betting season with a 51% winning percentage against the spread on his basketball picks after 190 games and has improved that to a 57% winning percentage against the spread completing the 2004-2005 season.
NBA WEEK 21 COLUMN & FREE PICKS:
My third consecutive losing weekend has led me to take an intense introspective and even religious look at where I am in this world and unfortunately, I realize that I may not be a good person. I make fun of the mentally challenged (Isiah Thomas), I laugh at the crippled (Chris Webber), and I enjoy watching people fail (The Knicks). As a result, I have spent this week praying to the great Nipsey Russell for guidance, wisdom, and Taylor Rain to knock on my door.
It has been a difficult time, learning to deal with failure when things have been so successful up until now. I consulted DJ, Wagercom.com's own college football handicapper, to see how he deals with losing but all he did was tell me about his great success as a third string wide receiver on a marginal Division 1AA football team. I talked with the great Jiggy to see how he handles the odd week where he does not go undefeated on his money winning NFL picks and all he wanted to tell me was about the threesome he has had or the soon to be filmed movie he has written.
And then it struck me. One should not dwell on their failures, but embrace their successes. Three straight years of statistically significant picking of NBA games makes me special and these past three weeks have just been an aberration, a character builder if you will. So I thank the great masturbator in the sky for testing me, and promise to bring more positivity to all of you in the form of cash from the winning picks I am about to give you.
So when you are out tonight, don't think about the hot chick who won't talk to you because you are not six foot two and chiseled like a young David Hasselhoff, no, focus on the positive and think about her fat slovenly friend who you will be performing a Filthy Ronald on later in the evening.
So without further ado, on to this weeks picks:
NBA FRIDAY FREE PICKS:
Orlando at Philadelphia Over 199:
Your boy AC not only will be at this game tonight but will be in the owners box along with the poor man's Isiah Thomas, Billy King (and no I am not making that up). As a result, not only do I have to pick this game, but I have written several questions for Mr. King should he find himself forced to converse with the great AC Titticock.
1. When you signed Samuel Dalembert to the max contract, did you think you were filming an episode of Punk'd and therefore the contract wouldn't count?
2. When you traded for Chris Webber and essentially killed any cap flexibility you may have had for the next several years, did you think you would get ½ off since Webber is playing on only one leg?
3. Before you signed Kyle Korver, did you realize that Korver translates into "shitty basketball player" in Icelandic?
4. Before you make a move, do you think, "Would Isiah do this?" and if the answer is yes, then you go ahead with the transaction?
5. You really signed Lee Nailon at the beginning of this year, right? No really, that was not a joke right?
If you have a question for Billy King, hit me up before tonight at ac@wagercom.com and I will try to get it answered.
Boston at Cleveland Over 194:
LeDong and Pierce love to score but the real story here will be Delonte West going for 25. Just watch and hope neither team plays defense.
New Orleans +7 at Chicago:
I know I have been dogging the Whorenets all year but Chicago is playing like they just don't care. Root for Paul to tear it up and keep the scoring down.
Seattle +8.5 at Denver:
Denver should win but not in a blow out. The Sonics have been playing well behind an out of nowhere Chris Wilcox (I said Cox) and the Allen-Lewis combo. If they keep Melo in check, this should be close.
NBA SATURDAY FREE PICKS:
I would be upset about last night’s continued poor performance if not for my experience at the Sixer’s game where I sat with Billy Knight and their front office. First of all, they were all extremely nice guys and I think I may have a moratorium on Billy Knight jokes. He is a nice guy, with a ridiculously smoking hot wife, who just happens to suck at his job. There is nothing like the silence of sitting next to the GM of a terrible team as they are getting blown out on their own floor by a Darko Milicic led Magic team. I understand his pain as I was going down in that game too, as I had the over. A bizarre night, but it drove home the fact that it is ok to lose, because Billy Knight has perfected it and he is making millions of dollars with a wife who looked young enough to be his daughter. So perhaps I will keep the losing streak going just for that.
There are only four games today so looks like I have to pick all of them, ugh.
Washington at LA Clippers -4.5:
Rarely am I right about the Clips which I call the curse of the Wagercom.com editor. You see, Wagercom.com’s editor is a big Clippers fan and I have been denigrating the Clips all year. As a result I believe he has put a hex on me so I ask him nicely to take the hex off and let his boys win big tonight. I am officially on the bandwagon, is that good enough? Just hope they can play some defense on Arenas. [editor's note: hex removed - AC you are free to pick the clips]
Dallas -7 at Atlanta:
Not my favorite pick as I still kind of like the under 197.5 so you may want to take Atlanta and the over. Dirk likes to win and the Hawks are very good at losing. Seven points are a lot but the Hawks usually lose big.
Denver at Phoenix Under 226:
Call me old-fashioned but I refuse to take an over where the line is greater than 225. I know both teams like to score but all you need is one bad quarter to win the under. Just hope the Nuggets have something in their tank after last night’s game to be able to play even a modicum of defense.
Sacramento at Utah Under 191:
Ron Ron vs. AK47 in a battle of defensive superstars. If Deron “Darrin” Williams can hold Bibby in check, this should be an under.
