AC'S NBA FREE PICKS WEEK 3:
What a week it has been in the NBA, we’ve had two wins by the Knicks, two wins by the Celtics, and one rape by Zach Randolph. Seriously, you have to read the Zach Randolph rape allegation, it is like sunshine on a cloudy day, it is like fucking whores, in the month of May. Zach “Two times anal” Randolph went 3rd input twice before he even thought about the front door and for that I applaud him (I mean I don’t applaud him raping a chick because that is wrong, but I do applaud him going third input because out of all of the inputs, that is the most romantic, trust me on this one). Anyway, I was all set to write a polemic on the injustice of David Stern and how he is turning the NBA into an even more totalitarian run community and then the Zach Randolph rape allegation came out and all I could think of I how much I wanted to be Zach Randolph (that is pre-rape Randolph).
So in order of “Two times anal” Randolph, I thought we would take a quick look at the most improved players so far this season, which of course is led by the great Randolph.
Most improved players:
Zach “Two Times Anal” Randolph: His high school coach once proclaimed that when he reads the paper every day he is happy when he sees Zach has not been shot (and I am 100% sure I am not making that up, and I am 100% sure I am not sober right now, but I digress). Anyway, Randolph has decided to try to play this year with intensity and is averaging 26 points and 10 rebounds a game. He has always had the talent but also always had the desire to violate the anus (and by violate the anus I mean smoke pot and not try on the basketball court). Either way, he is unstoppable, like former Georgetown guard Charles Smith trying to give away a pack of Newports in jail (and that may not mean anything to you, but e-mail me off line and I will explain). Zach wants to play, and for that, Portland fans are happy.
Kevin Martin: Martin broke out a bit in last year’s playoffs but this year he is scoring to the tune of 24 points a game. He has doubled his scoring average as well as doubling the amount of times people mistake him for Doug Christie (seriously, he looks just like him, I keep expecting him to drop some lame hand signals to his wife in the middle of Kings’ games). Martin has been scoring from the outside, by driving to the hoop, and even from the line with a 94% free throw percentage. His shot may be uglier than the fat chick you did last night because you were bored and she was fat but it still goes in and that is all that matters.
Emeka Okafor: This is more of a comeback than a most improved by Emeka has picked up his overall numbers. He is averaging 19 points, 12 boards, and an astonishing 4.1 blocks per game which is the 14th best average in the history of the NBA. The Charlotte team is not as bad as people might think and with Okafor in the middle, they have a better future than most.
Quentin Richardson: With back problems and Larrry Brown’s constant nagging out of the way, Richardson has reverted back to his all-star form from the Phoenix days. Q is averaging a career high 17 point per game while playing solid D and pretending to listen to Isiah Thomas. I am 100% sure this won’t keep up as he is not going to shoot 44% from 3 for the whole year but Knicks fans should enjoy it while it lasts, kind of like getting free porn on TV every once in a while in that you know it is going to go away but those 5 minutes that it is on are magical.
Others to consider: Mike Miller, Deron Williams, and David Lee
Friday Night Free NBA Picks:
New Jersey +4.5 at Indiana:
This is my first "too good to be true" game in that Indiana is really not a good team and Nets are playing well despite their 4-3 record. Usually in these games, it is too good to be true and we wind up losing our money and having to dine at Sizzler for the night but perhaps this season will be different. However, as long as Jamal "The Human Calf Strain" Tinsley is running the point for the Pacers, Indiana will struggle. Just hope Kidd and Carter are healthy enough to make up for the lack of Stone Hands Jefferson.
Dallas -5.5 at Memphis:
Here's the thing about Memphis, they suck. No, I mean it, they really suck. Have you looked at their starters? Mike Miller, Hakim Warrick, Chucky Atkins, Stromile Swift, and Rudy Gay, and I promise I didn't make any of that up. I don't care that Dallas is playing like they are still hung over from drinking for 3 months and banging cheap whores, bet against the Grizz early and often. Just hope the Mavs play all 48 minutes.
Philadelphia at Phoenix -7.5:
A lot of points to give especially as Phoenix is struggling but consider this a pick against the Sixers rather than a pick for Phoenix if that will make you feel better. The Suns need Boris Diaw to put the croissant down and go to the hole in addition to needing Marcus Banks simply not to play (for years I have been telling everyone this guy is awful and now he is fully proving my point). Take the Suns and hope gimpy Webber still has his pout on.
Toronto at LA Lakers -8:
I am not convinced the Lakers are a good team while I am convinced the Raptors aren't. Plus Kobe is bound to go off sooner or later and I am calling sooner with a 50 point night tonight. Take the Lakers and root for Smush Parker to shoot over 30%.
Saturday Night Free NBA Picks:
AC went 3-1 last night and enjoyed the victories despite his bad luck at the poker tables. Luckily for AC the cash he won on the NBA more than made up for calling pocket Kings with pocket Queens and thus having his bitches fold on him like the dirty whores that they are.
Boston +3 at New York:
This will solve the old debate “is a piece of crap smarter than a stinky turd?” as Doc Rivers and Isiah Thomas face off in what should be just a horrible game. Both teams are coming off big win and both teams have won two in a row which mean both teams are due for a loss. Since they both can’t lose, take the points and hope the Celtics tune Doc out more than the Knicks tune Isiah out.
New Orleans at Minnesota -3:
Garnett is good, the rest of the team is bad, but this is a home game and we all know how much of an advantage all 4 fans that go to Timberwolves games present. Take the Wolves and hope Blount can be limited to 6 turnovers.
Indiana at Milwaukee -3:
At the beginning of the year I told you that the Pacers would suck and lo and behold they are playing worse than the fat stripper you sent to give your friend a lap dance as a joke (though I find nothing funny about lap dances). The Pacers are about to implode and I don’t see a way out for them. They need to get younger and more skilled. Look for Larry Legend to deal O’Neal for draft picks in what should potentially be the deepest draft ever. In the mean time, take the Bucks and hope Mo Williams can keep the offense under control.
Philadelphia at LA Clippers Over 198.5:
You can probably tease this with the Clips -10 and roll the money over into a night filled with Blumpkins and Dirty Sanchez’s. Just hope the Clips keep pouring it on, even when they bring in the scrubs.
