Tom Brady (NE) @ Peyton (Ind.) Pats +3
For the last three years I have been down on Peyton Manning. Today is no different. The three main themes of this game are going to be the heart of Manning, the coaching of Hoody and the cool headedness of Brady. This should be a great game.
First, as I have said in previous seasons, Peyton has had too easy a life to win the big games. Whenever he has been tested in the pros (and to some degree, in college) he has folded. In boxing, when you are in the ring and you take a shot in the chops or in the gut, it hurts. It makes you want to puke or it makes you shake your head and wonder where you are. Most men throw in the towel, they give up. But what separates two boxers with equal talent (and sometimes unequal talent) is their heart. The one who can reach through the pain, through the doubt and through the adversity can weather the storm and mentally destroy his (or her) opponent. Athletes (and people in all walks of life) gain this power different ways. I would suspect that in sport is often comes from adversity in one’s youth Manning’s youth was a line of people telling him how great he was. Peyton Manning doesn’t have that mental fortitude. Peyton Manning is a quitter. When his offense is sputtering and he gets sacked or intercepted you can feel him give in. In the end, Peyton doesn’t have the cajones to win this game.
Hoody is just a better coach than virtually anyone in the NFL. He consistently takes average (the only real standout on the team is Brady and he isn’t physically that impressive or he would have been drafted earlier) players and makes them win as a team. Hoody throws different looks, different strategies and simply finds ways to win. I have to give this one to Hoody again.
And finally, Brady. Though the Colts defense had a forgettable regular season, they seem to have gelled in the post season. We shouldn’t get the ticker tape parade ready in Indy just yet as the offenses the Colts faced were (at best) lame. First it was the suicidal Herm Edwards (I would like the NFL to explore possible point shaving/throwing of that game) and then the McNair led Ravens???? Brady will shred that defense, in fact, with the game plan created by Hoody, this should be an old fashioned blow out. I said that the winner of the Chargers-Pats game would win the superbowl and I stand by that.
Take the Pats and the points!
Drew Brees (NO) @ Big Rex Grossman (Chi.) Chicago -2.5

Snowy and 29 degrees. That is the weather forecast for the game on Sunday. Now take the warm weather, fancy Saints and throw them on the field with a tough, angry Bear defense. This one should be a mess. The Philly D (though nothing to sneeze at) just ain’t nothing like the Bear defense. The Saints, could only squeak by them. I know the Bears only barely beat the Seachickens, but come on people.
The trickeration offense of the Saints won’t be able to handle the weather, the pressure, the talent and the crowd of Soldier field. And on the other side of the ball, even Rex Grossman should be able to handle the Saint defense.
Take the Bears and give the points.
Many of my fans ask me where I wager. I have a gambling problem so I bet on everything from the ponies to how long (in inches) my excrement is. But I have been a proud customer to sportingbetusa.com for some time (
