For those of you new to this football betting picks column, our expert NFL football handicapper Jiggy has had a money making 2003-2004, 2004-2005, 2005-2006, and 2007-2008 NFL season (where he picked over 60% correctly). Besides one down year (2006-07) Jiggy has posted a winning record on both his NFL football free picks and NFL Lock of the Week against the spread. Each week during the NFL season Jiggy will share his free winning NFL football picks as well as his entertaining take on the current happenings of the NFL.

Gobble Gobble

2008 FREE NFL PICKS WEEK 13

Gobble Gobble Mother Effer

Jiggy is many things, but chief among them is patriot. It isn’t that I haven’t had my disputes with policies of our super power – but generally, if you cut me open I bleed red, white and blue. (Unless of course if I have bet on the 49ers, in which case I bleed cardinal and gold – but not Stanford Cardinal – but alas, I digress.) Some of the policies I might have a problem with primarily have to do with the free market. If a brother wants to buy some love, smoke a little doobage or place a little wager, that should be your right as an American and as a human. And don’t get me started that somehow one can bet on horse racing and play the lottery (state-sponsored no less).Howdy Pilgrim

But back to the point.

There is a real movement in this great country of ours to vilify the thanksgiving holiday as a day that celebrates the imperial will of the white man over the red man and the accompanying horrors. And Jiggy doesn’t dig on genocide.

But we also need to remember that it is a holiday that celebrates the adventurous nature of our people. It takes some real guts to sail across the ocean from that repressive nation (England – what with the bad teeth and all) to live in the ‘new world.’ You have to cope with Indians (Native Americans), buffalo, new diseases and of course the scarcity of food. If you can survive in America today, you need some props (especially with the downfall of our financial system) but it was probably even tougher back then. Don't Hate The Injuns

And then there is the whole issue of the current residents. I would argue that social norms and mores were different in the 1600s and certainly in the 1800s. I am not condoning the massacre of innocents, but we need to remember that we are at war with the ‘red man.’ We were vying for land. I think a good analogy is the following: Let’s just say that you are playing against Hoodie (belichick) and he runs up the score against you in New England. Jiggy doesn’t believe in running up the score in general. Well the next year, when he is in your house and the game has been put away late, you need to throw some wood on the fire. Call some timeouts and make sure you get in that last field goal. Quod erat demonstratum.

And even if you still have lingering moral quandaries and doubts about the treatment of the most recent inhabitants of our great country (and Jiggy is happy to have a discussion about this) one must also be able to celebrate the holidays history from the holiday today. The holiday today is everything that is great (and evil) about the Estados Unidos. You have gluttony, consumerism, football and the Turducken.

God how I love it.

The Dude

JIGGY'S FREE NFL PICKS

Daddy has to pick a game or two on Turkey Day…

Tenny @ Detroit – Tenny -11

The lions love to lose and they especially love to lose on Thanksgiving. Jiggy has made the mistake too many times of following one of the few cardinal rules of gambling (if a home dawg is getting more than 7 points, take them and the points). That being said, the true test of an expert is knowing when to deviate from the rules. And this is one of those times. The Titans have to prove to they are not a fluke. And there is no better team in the league to reassert one’s dominance against than the paltry lions.
Brett and Jiggy

John Elway (den) @ Joe Namath (nyj) – NYJ -7.5

Brett the Jet is far closer to Joe Namath than Jay Cutler is to John Elway (the pride of Granada Hills). Though I do believe that Cutler’s arm is stronger than Elway’s as he claimed. The interesting point that young Jay doesn’t get is that that all good QBs have good arms, but not all good arms are good QBs. You dig? The key skill for a QB is not being able to dent titanium with a football, it about making good decisions and being a good leader. But that is an argument for another time. I am on the Jets.
uggs - Mug Shot or Team Photo

Joe Flacco (bal) @ Boomer Esiason (cincy) – Baltimore -7

Cincy is just an embarrassment and I am finally getting on the Baltimore bandwagon. Take the Ravens and give the points.

The Bus (pitt) @ Mosi Tatupu (n.e.) – New England -1

I am swayed by this young kid. I love me some Matt Cassell. I also believe deeply that Hoodie in the Bring Me Flowers Tom!cold in November, late in the season is a CMD (coach of mass destruction). Gimme New England at home.

Many of my fans ask me where I wager. I have a gambling problem so I bet on everything from the ponies to how long (in inches) my excrement is. But I have been a proud customer to superbook.com for some time. They have good lines, great promotions, many betting options and most importantly, I get my money from them on time. They have signed a deal with Wagercom.com. So if you are looking for an online book, try them out. They are Jiggy tested and Jiggy approved.
