DJ'S FREE WEEKLY COLLEGE FOOTBALL PICKS

9/3/03 Week 3 Picks

Not a bad start to the college football year. Although DJ can't boast a 100% winning pick record this past week , we are excited to start the year off with a winning record with his picks (60%). DJ actually did better than that raking it in on the Georgia game which he "forgot to include on the list" he shared with us ...saving some for the paying customers DJ? He did humbly mention to me that he should have stayed away from betting against the Trojans. But that's ok, I am sure fellow Bruin fans out there can relate. Well here are this weeks free College Football picks against the spread.

NC State -7.5 over Wake Forest

Rivers will put up points and lots of them. The Deacons beat a weak BC team. They’re still just Tim Duncan’s Alma Mater.

South Carolina +3 over Virginia

Virginia is QB-less not a good thing against the gamecocks (tee-hee I said gamecock). Holtz wins games like this all the time. Should be close though either way.

Georgia -28.5 over Middle Tennessee State

Dawgs rebuilt o-line looked good against Clemson they should be just fine against a team that can only claim the middle of Tennessee as their territory, sad really.

Notre Dame -5.5 over Washington State

With captain personality Ty Willingham as coach the Irish (though god knows I hate bastards) should cruise over an overmatched cougar team. Preliminary reports have Mike Price watching this game stage side at cheetahs. Those jokes just never get old.

Auburn -8.5 over Georgia Tech

Why stay with the Tigers after they made me look like an ass last week. Because they really are not that bad, I swear. If Tuberville can find a way not to get so badly out coached this week they should win going away. But Christ the guy somehow thought he’d surprise USC by running the ball, clearly he is not a sharp cookie. Bet this one with serious trepidation…(that’s right I said trepidation look it up if you don’t know it)

UCLA +3 over Colorado

UCLA has a lot of talent though an unproven QB. They also have half of CU’s old coaching staff, that can’t hurt. Look for UCLA freshman Maurice Drew to get some good carries. CU has a decent defense and a questionable offense. Karl Dorell era starts with a W.

FSU -14.5 over Maryland

The Terps suck. They got beat by a crappy team in their first game because they let them hang around too long. They shouldn’t have to worry about that with FSU. The Noles will make some noise this year. They start by flattening Maryland, which is being rudely welcomed back to earth this year.

OU -7.5 over Bama

Franchione is gone and Bama looks very vulnerable. OU needs to get their offense rolling. A low scoring game with OU pulling away late. Mike Price has indicated he will be unable to watch his other former team as he has a previous commitment to drink alone his room and cry.
